On Wednesday 1st April, six schools involved in the Broxtowe Sports Partnership came together at Chilwell Olympia. They were all going to be involved in the annual Sportshall Athletics Competition involving various competitions across traditional track and field events.

 

Teams with 6 girls and 6 boys from their respective schools competed in a closely fought contest with an outstanding standard of athletics on show. All the while this was played out in a friendly (and noisy!) atmosphere.

 

The results were as follows:

1. George Spencer 118

2. Bramcote Park 105

3. Eastwood 91

4. Chilwell 89

5. Kimberley  81

6. Alderman White 78

 

So congratulations to George Spencer as they succesfully defended their title but all schools can be proud of their performance. A special thank-you must also go to Chilwell Olympia for the way they hosted the event and their top-class facilities.

Bramcote Hills were crowned Rugby Champions last week, following a dramatic final round of matches at Gallows Inn, Ilkeston.

 

Going into the final game, Hills needed to avoid defeat  against George Spencer to ensure they remained as champions,  with Kimberley strolling to victory on the opposite pitch against Eastwood, the pressure was on Hills.  

 

Into the final minute George Spencer were winning and only a last second try from Bramcote Hills ensured the trophy stayed at Moor Lane!

The year 9/10 Girls from Bramcote Park strolled their way to become Netball Champions for 2007/08.

 

The girls won all 9 games over the 3 nights, to win the league by a massive 18 points!!

The Year 7/8/9 team from Bramcote Hills, clinched a dramatic victory in the final round of matches to become the undisputed KS3 Badminton Champions.

 

With a huge amount of matches still to be played going into the final round, the title was there for the taking, with all six schools still in with a shot at glory.  Bramcote Hills started well with both Boys and Girls Doubles teams winning crucial early games. 

 

Despite a sterling effort from Bramcote Park, who manged to maintain a steady flow of victories whilst others fell away, Bramcote Hills stood firm to top the Boys League, Girls League and ultimatley the combined table.

 

Congratulations to Miss Hendry and her team of Champions!
