WOW, the weather was brilliant for the first round of matches played at Eastwood Cricket Club on Thursday 20th May.

 

Only 15 runs separated Brookhill Leys Primary and the Cricket club team. Callum and Mitchell top scored for Brookhill as the school team reached 158 in their 16 overs. Scoring 21 in their last 4 overs Oliver and Sam managed to get the cricket club up to 143, just short of their target.

In the other game played, the bowlers and fielders restricted both teams to low scores. For Greasley Beauvale, Melissa had a net score of no runs against her 2 overs by taking two Priory wickets. Liam also had good figures with just 2 runs from his overs leaving Priory with 126 runs. In their innings, Greasley were always behind the run rate with Angus taking 2 wickets for no runs and Frank getting 2 wickets for only 3 runs. This restricted Greasley Beauvale primary to 105 runs, giving Priory a 21 run victory.
