Well done to the 35 Chilwell pupils that braved the Artic conditions to participate in the cross country at Eastwood last Wednesday.

All our teams did extremely well, but it was our Year 8 and 9 girls team that actually ended up the winners of their section.

Bramcote Hills were crowned Rugby Champions last week, following a dramatic final round of matches at Gallows Inn, Ilkeston.

Going into the final game, Hills needed to avoid defeat  against George Spencer to ensure they remained as champions,  with Kimberley strolling to victory on the opposite pitch against Eastwood, the pressure was on Hills.

Into the final minute George Spencer were winning and only a last second try from Bramcote Hills ensured the trophy stayed at Moor Lane!

Friday 7th December
A group of year 10 girls on the Pretty Fit scheme (funded by the Big Lottery) were rewarded for their participation in the project with a trip to Nottingham Climbing Centre. All of the group were eager and enthusiastic (and some a little nervous!) and raring to get up the walls.

Not only did the girls climb whatever was put in front of them, they learnt how to belay for each other and coach the climbers on where to put their hands and feet. The group loved the session and looked very smart in their hooded tops (more rewards!).

Photos from the day are on the photo gallery.
