During the heavy snowfalls in January, we made good use of the great outdoors!  We try really hard to incorporate learning outdoors into our curriculum and this provided a brilliant opportunity for this. The children were given the task of designing, planning & creating a school snowman and had to work together in teams of five or six children – the objective being to produce a snowman!  The skills involved included speaking and listening, designing, negotiating, cooperating, distributing (limited) tools fairly and project-managing!!!  One of the best outcomes was the amount of physical exercise taking place!  The results were very impressive!  Tracey Travers (P.E. coordinator/Acting Head Teacher)

All of the Year 3 and 4 pupils in the primary schools in Eastwood took part in a'Virtual competition' last week.
At their own schools they participated in four different activities to score points for their school. The results from each school were emailed to the SSCo who worked out average scores to produce winners in each event. Individual highest scores were also noted.
