Eastwood, 23rd October 2008 The final rounds of matches were played on Thursday 3rd July at the Eastwood cricket club ground. Greasley Beauvale Juniors won both their matches to finish the season with a 100% record and take the winners Shield. Doyle Hutchinson and Sam Meakin top scored for Greasley with opening stands of 28 and 38 while the bowling of Daisy Humphries and Amy Hoddle produced combined figures of 8 overs, 15 runs for 3 wickets in the two matches. The cricket club team finished second, losing only one match with Lynncroft in third place. Without doubt the standard of cricket this season has been higher than previously . Particular note must be made of the high standard of fielding which was produced by Greasley in all of their matches.
