There were 4 teams in contention to win the league on the last day of the primary school season. Greasley Beauvale who were leading with 10 points lost to Eastwood Cricket club (8 point, Priory 2nd with 9 points lost to Lynncroft. Springbank on 8 points also lost meaning that the cricket club and Greasley tied for first place with 11 points each. By virtue of their last day win over Greasley Beauvale the trophy goes to Eastwood cricket club. Highlights of the last day were the performances of Angus (year 3) for Priory, Oliver and Jake for the Cricket club and Dillans bowling for Springbank. The next cricket for the primary schools of Eastwood takes place on Sunday 11th July when the annual Kwik cricket festival takes place at 10.00am at Eastwood cricket club. Eastwood, 1st July 2010 On the 4th week of the season the cricket club team comfortably defeated Lynncroft. Despite Kyan and Kyle scoring 29 runs at the end of the Lynncroft innings an equally good batting performance saw Oliver and Sam score 39 runs to give the club a 28 run victory. A much closer game in which Scott and Callum scored 17 runs to give Greasley Beauvale a total of 141 ended with Brookhill Leys being 6 runs short despite some very tidy bowling by Abbie and a last wicket partnership of 17 by Abbie and Kirk. Despite Curtis and Aaron turning in respectable bowling figures for Springbank, Jake and Sam scored 33 in their 4 overs for the cricket club. In the other game played Kyan and Kyle top scored for Lynncroft with 16 in their overs but Liam and Sammy finished with 19 to see Greasley Beauvale home by 29 runs.
